Overview

Yean Kee Beef Noodle (Kluang) stands as a humble yet cherished destination for beef noodle lovers in Johor, Malaysia. Nestled at 4, Jalan Murni 1 in Taman Murni, this local eatery combines tradition with subtle innovation, channeling the heart of old-school Malaysian Chinese cuisine. The highlights here focus on their signature beef noodle offerings, particularly the dry beef noodles served with homemade lai fun—rice noodle strips that carry a comforting texture, albeit with mixed reviews from patrons.

The experience at Yean Kee is anchored in its sincere approach to beef noodle culture. The broth, simmered over long hours, delivers a clear, comforting depth without the off-putting odor sometimes found in beef soups. This results in a clean, nuanced taste that complements tender cuts of beef and tendon. While some diners find the beef slightly less tender than expected, the generous portions and authentic flavours more than compensate.

Yean Kee also distinguishes itself by blending culinary influences, notably by integrating a Chinese take on Malay beef rendang. This innovative dish bridges cultural flavors, expanding the menu beyond traditional beef noodles and presenting a delightful twist for adventurous diners. For convenience, they sell prepacked frozen rendang, perfect for anyone wanting a taste of their kitchen at home.

The restaurant itself holds a modest, no-frills charm suited to locals and visitors who appreciate straightforward, hearty meals focused on quality and tradition rather than elaborate presentation. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it a fitting spot for those eager to explore Kluang’s storied beef noodle scene. Whether you're after the herbal tea to balance the richness or the claypot bovine offal soup for a robust experience, Yean Kee offers variety while honoring deep-rooted flavors.

For travelers seeking a genuine taste of Johor’s culinary heritage or locals craving a satisfying bowl, Yean Kee Beef Noodle provides a meaningful stop. Its appeal lies in an honest menu, clear broth-based noodles, and an inviting space that resonates well with those who value authenticity over flash.

In essence, Yean Kee Beef Noodle (Kluang) is an essential stop for anyone exploring Malaysian beef noodle culture — delivering a balanced combination of tradition, flavor, and approachable innovation.

In addition to the beef noodles, they have beef rendang. This is an interesting combination of Chinese + Malay. Of course, the beef rendang is a Chinese rendition. They sell prepacked frozen, ready to eat beef rendang as well. They’ll help you wrap up in newspapers and cooler bag.

Wanted to try the famous Tangkak Beef noodle at Kluang branch but found this restaurant accidently. Ordered the signature beef noodle with home made laifen and added with tendon. It is clear broth type with good taste without any odor after long hour cooking. Beef meat and tendon is adequate level. Home made laifen is a bit dissapointed or not my cup of tea. Anyway, it is a good try and above average beef noodle which is worth to visit.

Noddle lai fun quality is very very good indeed. Taste is good. However the beef is still not tender enough. Rm13 per bowl is a bit pricey

Not many people when arrived on Sat for lunch. It is said that this is one of the local's favourite beef noodles. I ordered the mix parts with rice noodles n i wished the parts are cut bigger and the rice noodle is not cut that short. Soup wise is ok as I had tasted better soup which is rich n flavourful. All i can say, a must try when u r in Bat Town here!

1st impression - clean. Overall restaurant and washroom are clean. Food - ordered beef balls and their signature dry beef noodles. Beef ball tastes like home made. Noodles are tasty with peanuts and half a lime that gave it a tingling sour taste that's unique and not overpowering. Portion is a little small thou Service - attentive and fast Overall good
